ABSTRACT
Objectives:
Cybersecurity is a key requirement of modern civilization, stemming from the rapid development of information technology and its integration into all aspects of social life. Cyberattacks should be viewed not merely as a form of digital crime, but also as potential instruments of modern warfare and acts of terrorism. Since legal violations occur in the virtual realm - just as they do in the physical world - it is essential to incorporate cybersecurity issues into the educational system.
Methods:
An analysis of the issue reveals three fundamental dimensions: organizational, educational, and developmental (upbringing-related). First, educational institutions, in utilizing digital infrastructure, must ensure appropriate technological safeguards, encompassing both hardware and software. Second, from an educational perspective, it is essential to enhance the digital competencies of teachers and to equip students with the knowledge required to navigate the digital environment safely. Third, the developmental aspect entails fostering attitudes that encourage adherence to social norms within cyberspace.
Results:
In this context, it is necessary to assess whether existing legal regulations provide a sufficient basis for educational authorities and school principals to carry out the aforementioned tasks, and to analyze public policies and the extent of their implementation.
Conclusions:
Given that achieving cybersecurity is a process rather than the attainment of a specific level of protection, it is necessary to foster development across every dimension of this complex issue within the field of education.
